I do! I used to play this back when the machine was still a thing in malls in maybe 2008 to around 2012.
This seems more like it. It’s got JDM fare, European makes, and Ford. A new Battle Gear using Unreal Engine 4 and Beam.NG Drive’s damage model would be a hoot.

ADDENDUM: If we ever make a Battle Gear 5, Chris Harris should be on the cover and must be the Final Boss.

WMMT and Initial D killed it good. I’d be happy if BG5 would happen tho.

I’ve just found a way to play it on PC.

I reckon they’re two different animals. WM:MT is city/motorway racing, while this, I think, can be reintroduced as a hillclimb/grand touring specialist—Initial D has drifting covered already.

All three are desperately needed in the West. I, for one, would like to share the fun, and the exposure wouldn’t hurt, right?

TBH I never liked the handling on the Initial D machine. Im probably loyal to WMMT because of how much money I’ve sunk into the thing lol

Having played all three (and another one that I can’t remember, but I remember the machine being colored white), ID:AS is more forgiving but has sparse car choice.
Still, we need all three. Squeenix, in particular, can use the cash from FFXV to make a new BG5 using Unreal Engine.
Plus, unlike WM:MT, Battle Gear can be had with no street racing, but hillclimbs, so licensing from peevish makes (I know two) is slightly easier, and there is an FIA championship for hillclimbs, so bonus points.

Well...not enough people shared the interest of having newer WMMT and Initial D machines. Here we are stuck with WMMT3DX and Initial D 4. Thanks to old people wanting peace of mind shopping malls and young thugs ruining the arcade scene, we have fewer and fewer arcades. It became less and less popular due to online gaming and games with much higher graphics on console/PC. Then you got the fact that people don’t respect the machines like they used to, how many times WMMTs shifters get broken? A lot of times! They need to fix it which involves money, machine is out of commission so they get payed less, then they jack up the price a bit and people stop coming every day/week like they used to. We can’t win...unless a new formula happens, like the new arcades bars.

Professional cabinets. Where I go and practice manual.
Unfortunately the last place in the GTA where there was one shut down.

Maybe I should keep an eye out for it then. I’ve never seen a BG machine and Playdium doesn’t seem to be interested in expanding their inventory often.

Either get the PC version (there’s one in the comments) or, more insane idea, buy one. If nothing else, the cockpit should be able to house a monitor an its internals replaced with an XBone or PS4.
EDIT: The third paragraph talks about the reboot idea, BTW.

Interesting... buying a used cabinet and replacing the internals with a modern system - I can’t say I’ve ever thought of or come across the thought of that! Would definitely make for a neat project if you had the room, though the cabinets themselves... not cheap for a good one for the brand you want.
I’ll look into a PC copy when I have time - AC has be a bit tied up atm aha.
